Hence, of those who prepare themselves for a journey (German sich aufmachen): Mark 7:24; Mark 10:1; Luke 1:39; Luke 15:18, 20; Acts 10:20; Acts 22:10. In the same way the Hebrew קוּם (especially וַיָּקָם) is put before verbs of going, departing, etc., according to the well known oriental custom to omit nothing contributing to the full pictorial delineation of an action or event; hence, formerly וַיָקָם and ἀναστάς were sometimes incorrectly said to be redundant; cf.
