b. to lay or throw oneself upon; with the dative of person to attack one, to make an assault on one: Acts 18:10; Exodus 21:14; Exodus 18:11; 2 Chronicles 23:13, and often in secular writings; cf. Kuinoel at the passage; (Winer's Grammar, 593 (552). Compare: συνεπιτίθημι.)
