ALIGN WITH GOD’S PROMISE

Scripture Reading:* Exodus 6

Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, and gave them a command for the children of Israel and for Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt. *Exodus 6:13*_

God did not argue after Moses raised doubts about his suitability for the assignment. The Lord repeated the command for Moses to go and liberate the Hebrews.

God’s charge to Moses was firm and strong. The charge moved Moses from the initial request of “let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in the desert,” to “let the Israelites go out of this country”. This was a clearer language expressing God’s intent to not only make the people go and worship Him but to actually deliver them permanently from slavery and move them to the Promised Land.

Many times, when we expect that the Lord will lessen His demands on us, He raises the standard and demands more. Why does the Lord do that? It’s so because God always has a will He wants accomplished.

God wants our will to align with His will. Our walk with God is a walk of submission. We submit to the Lord and to His ways. When God wants us to do something, He will continue working on us until we are well aligned with His intentions for us.

Throughout God’s dealings with Moses, He kept repeating His mission to redeem His people from bondage no matter how doubtful the Israelites were. He kept nudging Moses onto his assignment, no matter his self-doubts.

That is how the Lord deals with us. He works with us in our weaknesses to the point where He can use us to accomplish His purposes. It may take a while for us to learn to trust and depend on Him. But throughout that period, He doesn’t change His charge to us. It is we who must change and act with faith in response to His demand.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me to align my will to your will. Lift me up from where I am to where you are. In Jesus’ name, *Amen.*_
