a) TRIALS
These are circumstances that we are meant to endure. They are not caused by our sinfulness; rather they are often caused by our standing for righteousness in a sinful world.

Note: Many principles of the kingdom are expressed in parables, which is a way of expressing the radical difference between them and the principles under which this world operates.
