GOD WILL DO IT
Scripture Reading: Exodus 6
I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the LORD.’ *Exodus 6:7–8*_
In these verses, God continues to speak about His determined will. With clear emphasis, He shares with Moses, the pronouncements of His will that Moses was to relay to the children of Israel.
God’s majesty and power were behind these commitments. Therefore, regardless of whether Israel doubted or not, He was going to accomplish them because they were His will and purpose, and they would stand.
God gave four further affirmations of what He would do for His people.
I will take you as my people. Israel would no longer be owned by Pharaoh. God promised to identify with them and bring them unto Himself.
I will be your God. Israel would no longer worship the gods of the Egyptians. Neither would they only know the Lord as the God of their fathers. The Lord wanted the new nation and all its people to know Him as their God.
I will bring you into the land. This includes deliverance from Egypt and entrance into the Promised Land. The Lord did not tell them about the journey in the wilderness and all the trials. He only told them they would get to the Promised Land.
I will give the land to you. This was the promise that God made to Abraham about 600 years earlier. He did not tell them about the new set of battles they would have to fight to possess their inheritance in the Promised Land.
Just as the Israelites were unaware of what they would go through to enter the Promised Land, we also may not know what lies ahead of us after we’ve received a promise from the Lord. Some hurdles and opposition may arise to hinder us, and we must arm ourselves with that understanding.
Nonetheless, be assured that if God says He will do something, He will do it. He knows the challenges we may face on the way. But He knows the end He has purposed and pronounced, and He will bring His will to pass.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, you are my God and I am your child. I know you will do what you say you will do. In Jesus’ name, *Amen.*_
