equal, in quality or in quantity:
ἡ ἴση δωρεά, the same gift,
Acts 11:17;
ἴσαι μαρτυρίαι, agreeing testimonies,
Mark 14:56, 59;
ἴσον ποιεῖν τινά τινι, to make one equal to another, in the payment of wages,
Matthew 20:12;
ἑαυτὸν τῷ θεῷ, to claim for one's self the nature, rank, authority, which belong to God,
John 5:18;
τὰ ἴσα ἀπολαβεῖν,
Luke 6:34. The neuters
ἴσον and
ἴσα are often used adverbially from Homer down (cf. Passow under the word p. 1505
a; [Liddell and Scott under the word IV. 1]; Winers Grammar § 27, 3 at the end):
ἴσα εἶναι (Buttmann § 129, 11), of measurement,
Revelation 21:16; of state and condition,
τῷ θεῷ Philippians 2:6 (on which see in
μορφή).
