Romans 12

Christian Standard Bible (CSB)

Back to Bible
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you ⓑ to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, ⓒ holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. [1]
Do not be conformed ⓓ to this age, ⓔ but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, ⓕ so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will ⓖ of God.
For by the grace ⓗ given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. ⓘ Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith ⓙ to each one.
Now as we have many parts in one body, ⓚ and all the parts do not have the same function,
in the same way we who are many ⓛ are one body in Christ ⓜ and individually members of one another.
According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: ⓝ If prophecy, ⓐ use it according to the proportion of one’s [2] faith;
if service, ⓑ use it in service; if teaching, ⓒ in teaching;
if exhorting, ⓓ in exhortation; giving, with generosity; ⓔ leading, ⓕ with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness. ⓖ
Let love be without hypocrisy. ⓗ Detest evil; ⓘ cling to what is good.
Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. ⓙ Outdo one another in showing honor. ⓚ
Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; [3] ⓛ serve the Lord. ⓜ
Rejoice in hope; ⓝ be patient in affliction; ⓐ be persistent in prayer. ⓑ
Share with the saints in their needs; ⓒ pursue hospitality. ⓓ
Bless those who persecute you; ⓔ bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; ⓕ weep with those who weep.
Live in harmony with one another. ⓖ Do not be proud; ⓗ instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation. ⓘ
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. ⓙ Give careful thought to do what is honorable ⓚ in everyone’s eyes.
If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. ⓛ
Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God’s wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, [4] ⓜ says the Lord.
But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. ⓝ If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. [5] ⓐ
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
