Leviticus 13:2 [1] Hansen's disease (leprosy) was well-recognized in many ancient civilizations, but from the details of the disease in Lev 13, it is thought by many that other skin disorders may also have been categorized as "leprosy." The term is derived from a Greek word (lepra) which was applied to several kinds of skin diseases.
