¹ Sharp arrows of the warrior, With the[2] burning coals of the broom tree.

² Woe to me, for I sojourn in Meshech, and I live among the tents of Kedar [among hostile people]!

³ Too long my soul has had its dwelling With those who hate peace.

⁴ I am for peace, but when I speak, They are for war.

⁵ A Song of[1] Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills [of Jerusalem]— From where shall my help come?

⁶ My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

⁷ He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.

⁸ Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber [briefly] nor sleep [soundly].

⁹ The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand.

¹⁰ The sun will not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.

¹¹ The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life.

¹² The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] From this time forth and forever.
